Our journey
Date Posted: 05-19-2006 at 11:30 AM
We signed with our facilitator in October of 2004. 2 weeks later we got a call that a mom wanted to relinquish her 6 week old identical twins. Our facilitator said there is a little more risk because this was someone they were not dealing with. It was a random call. We decided to go for mainly because we thought it must be fate. My husband and his twin sister were adopted. It must be meant to be. We were so happy. We were home for a week with them when we got the call. Mom had changed her mind. What a crushing blow. We were, however, able to really truely know in our hearts that adoption was for us from this incident. We had alway wanted to adopt but thought it would happen after we had bio children. After 3 years of infertility with treatments and all we knew God had a different plan for us and was just changing it up a bit. In January of 2005 we got the call that we had been chosen by bparents. We were apprehensive on and off throughout the months but in the end it was meant to be. On May 13th, 2005 (Friday the 13th even) our little girl was born. She is adorable. We even get more and more how much she looks like my husband. We are truely blessed and only that others get to complete their families soon.

Another day

Boy the last few days have been very frustrating. Kelcee has begun the screaming if she doesn't like what is happening. It is so piercing. Some days I could just scream back at her. Who's one and who's not??? Hopefully this will pass quickly.

My husbands family will arrive tomorrow from Texas. We will finally be able to baptise our precious angel after waiting a year. I can't wait. I will feel much better after this. We are so blessed with baby and are having so much fun with her. She is every where. I have to block off so many places because she is very quick in her walking and very quiet!!!

Saturday was the baptism. It was a wonderful day and we were really happy to finish the process. It feels good being able to finally have our daughter baptised in the church. We hope everyone on these boards gets to feel the happiness that we feel by having been able to adopt our daughter. Our thoughts go out to everyone that there is a new chapter in their lives by adding a new little loved one.

Vacation

Well, tomorrow we leave for the river for 4 days. I would say it should be fun but my little one has a summer cold and is miserable. I have even thought of staying home so that she is more comfortable. We all know how it goes when you are away from home and sick. It seems to take longer to get well. We will see how she does today and make a decision tonight.
