Our Mia has a home
Date Posted: 01-26-2006 at 09:59 AM
On October 19 2005 we saw the picture of our Mia for the first time, and completely fell inlove. We immediately put her on hold. But since we weren't even considering adopting internationally we had no international paperwork done and no savings. By the end of Dec we have already put down the first half of the fees... Our dossier is done and in Guatemala... and we have went to see our angel. She is absolutely perfect. She does have bilateral cataracts. Nystagmus which is a crossed eye and strabismus which is an involuntary eye movement. All of these are correctable to a degree when we get her home. We love our little Mia and always will.

Nothing New
Date Posted: 01-30-2006 at 02:08 PM
Well nothing new has happened. We are still waiting and that is al we can do. I have contacted my agency for a copy of Mia's CT three times now and have not gotten a response. But one of the directors is going to Guatemala next week so maybe she will bring it back with her. At least I know they did a cat scan and what translated it means. I would just like to have a copy to show our Dr. so that he can explain it to us in English as the translation doesn't sound right to me or the agency. I would also like to see some new pics but it has only been a little over amonth since I saw her person so maybe I shouldn't complain. Well that is pretty much where we are still waiting. We should be in FC but that is about it.

We are ready for DNA
Date Posted: 02-17-2006 at 03:28 PM
Okay I am just so excited we went to Kansas City to get fingerprinted and turn in all of our paperwork on Feb 6, 2006 and we go tin APPROVE in the mail yesterday. I just can't believe it, It was exactly 7 days from fingerprinting to approval and 10 days to get it in the mail. How much faster can you go than that. Now if only all USCIS offices were that fast. So now we can get our DNA and hopefully that willl be soon. YEAH!!!!!!!

I almost forgot

To let you guys know that we did get Mia's CT Scan and there is no hole in her brain as the translation came across. She does have a ventricle that is enlarged woth excess fluid but my Dr said that it can wait until we get home to do another MRI and get more tests done. So that is SUPER. Plus the next day we got new pictures of her and I am even more in love with her each and every day.
