DNA Authorization - Longest Time Period you waited
Date Posted: 10-31-2005 at 01:23 PM
Hi to everyone listening. We are adopting a precious little girl and our POA and Dossier has been in Guatemala since July. I have been patiently waiting for DNA Authorization for three months. I know it normally only takes a few months to get authorization and I am starting to get worried. Could anyone who was in a similar situation explain why it might take so long to get authorization and how long you waited. I am wondering if there is anyone out there that actually had to wait five months to get this? How do you cope? The explanation I have had so far is it is the embassy who is losing the documents. Does the embassy sometimes order more tests and why do they do this? Thank you for your help.

DNA Authorization - Looking for families who had to wait a while and why
Date Posted: 10-31-2005 at 01:33 PM
Hello to all listening. We are adopting a precious little girl and have been told we are out of family court. Our Dossier and POA was registered in July but to date we still do not have DNA authorization. First we were told our POA was lost then the embassy required another test. I would like to hear from adopting mommies and/or daddies if you had a while to wait to get DNA authorization also and the reason you were given. Is there anyone out there that actually had to wait five or more months? How did you cope? What are some reasons the embassy would not authorize the DNA test for several months? Thank you for your help.
