| I went out Monday to pick up the kids new birth certificates. I only looked at them long enough to make sure the names were spelled right. To me it feels like everything on that piece of paper is a lie. I didn't have a baby at age 22 or 25 and yet here is this piece of paper (an OFFICIAL piece of paper) that says I did. It's just....icky. I don't know, I look at these birth certificates and it just seems wrong. Like a big part of their life didn't happen. Like the woman who gave birth to these beautiful children doesn't exist. How sad is that ? Or maybe it's like going through a history book and erasing the important parts. All my kids are lucky enough to have their original birth certificates. But I wonder when our government will figure out that adoption is not A BIG SECRET and maybe create amended birth certificates. One that has the biological parents names and the adoptive parents names. That's all for now. Sigh... |
