| Though it has taken a while for us to get to this stage we are finally here. All of our paperwork is in and our visits are scheduled. Everything will be done by the 1st of August. My birthday is 2 days before the visit at our home. There is nothing I want for myself so I have asked for a stroller from one family member and I am going to use my birthday money from Granny for a Phillips baby monitor. To make everything seem a little more real I have purchsed some clearance price baby clothes that will be useful no matter what the season.I even posted our registry at Babies R Us and another toy retailer who had more of the wooden toys I prefer. I have also acquired the largest library for an unborn child, or so it seems! Just for interest's sake A MOTHER FOR CHOCO and the Jamie Lee Curtis book are both available in board book- so they can last a long long time. Most of my family is anxiously waiting with me. We do have some family members who we want to wait to tell so they get the good news and don't have agonize over the wait. I know why my husband and I came to this conclsion, but it still is hard not to feel distant from them when this is one of the biggest things on my mind. They are coming this weekend and I have tried to shuffle away all traces of impending baby. The books are in boxes, the clothing and toy containers are stacked in a corner of my room. Needless to say what has been the guest room (and will be for the last time this weekend) will be baby's room and I have been keeping every thing in there. I am very excited. I know it is still a long wait, but I am so very hopeful. |
